Living Lab 2: Aalborg, Denmark

Regional Profile &
Vision

Centered at the Port of Aalborg, LL2 will treat the industrial park as a “living organism.” The vision is to master the Water-Energy Nexus, proving that industrial wastewater can serve as a vital feedstock for the green fuel (Power-to-X) economy.

Technical & Digital Solutions

Technical tests will include an Industrial Park Microgrid and a Water Treatment Train for PtX Ultrapure Water production. Digital efforts will focus on the OSS Energy platform and Vulnerability Assessments (SERVE).

Governance & Methodology

LL2 will utilize the S-LCA (Social Life Cycle Assessment) to monitor how port expansion will affect the local community, ensuring that technological growth will not come at a social cost.
